Static security guards in Melbourne
A static guard is a licensed officer who stays at your site for the whole shift, watching gates, docks, lobbies and car parks. Bluestone guards are rostered to the same sites week after week and report to our 24/7 control room.

What a static guard does on your site
Most sites need a mix of these. Your supervisor writes the duty list with you before the first shift and updates it as your site changes.
Gates and docks
Checking trucks, drivers and paperwork in and out, and keeping gates shut when they should be.
Example duty: logs every truck in and out of the loading dock with times and rego.
Warehouses and logisticsFront desk and lobby
Signing in visitors, handing out passes and giving staff a calm, friendly first point of contact.
Example duty: signs in every contractor and checks their induction card.
Offices and corporateLoss prevention
A visible, uniformed presence on the shop floor that deters theft and supports your staff.
Example duty: covers the entrance during late trading and school holiday peaks.
Retail and shopping centresSite patrols on foot
Regular walks of the perimeter, car park and plant yard, with checkpoints logged for your report.
Example duty: walks the fence line every hour and photographs any damage.

Questions about static guards
Can’t find your answer? Call 1300 975 707 or email hello@bluestonesecurity.com.au.
How quickly can a guard start?
For urgent requests we can often have a licensed officer on site the same day, and usually within 24 hours. Call the control room and we’ll confirm on the call.
What is the minimum shift?
Four hours for most sites. Short, one-off shifts may attract a call-out fee, which we’ll tell you about before booking.
Will we get the same guard every time?
We roster the same small team to your site wherever we can, so they learn your people, keys and routines.
Are your guards armed?
No. Our officers are unarmed, licensed security officers trained in de-escalation and first aid.
What happens if a guard is sick?
Our control room covers the shift with another inducted officer and lets you know before the shift starts.
